Pärnus oli Naisliit, mina olin ka sellega seotud nagu Hiie Martinsongi ja enamus zontasid. Seepärast ei saanud joont vahele vedada, mis on ühe või teise üritus. Organiseerimist oli palju ja põhiline oli vaadata, millised on meie võimalused. Mina olin alguses hotellis “Vesiroos" juhataja asetäitja ja saime seal koos käia. Edasi tulin “Villa Johanna" perenaiseks, saime siin klubi liikmetega käia. Me ei pidanud maksma oma kontori ülevalpidamise eest ja alati olid käepärast ruumid, kus üritusi teha. Mina olin kunstiinimene, teatrist tulnud, seepärast olid pidude korraldamine, nende eeskava koostamine ja õhtu juhtimine minu peal. Zonta klubi käis igal pool nõu ja jõuga abiks, müüsime jõulude eel humanitaarabi riideid ja kogutud raha eest muretsesime sünnitusmajja vastsündinutele vajalikke asju. Meie klubis oli lastearst Reet Aas, tema rääkis, millest on beebidel kõige suurem nappus. Aeg oli ju selline, kus abi ja toetust vajasid veel paljud.


Ly Rebbas 1998-2000

I was together with Hiie Martinson and most of the other Zontians connected with the Union of Women in Pärnu. Because of that, it was difficult to draw the line whose events these actually were. There was a lot of organisational work and the most important issue was to consider our options. At first, we could gather at the Hotel Vesiroos, where I was the acting manager. Then I became the manager of Villa Johanna and we started to gather there. We did not have to pay for the office and we always had facilities to carry out events. As I had come from theatrical world, the organisation of parties, performances and hosting was my responsibility.

Zonta Club helped everywhere, we sold clothes before Christmas and for raised money from which we bought items for newborn babies at Pärnu Maternity Hospital. The paediatrician Reet Aas, the member of our club, told us what the babies needed most. It was a time, when many people needed help and support.
